Menz Factory

Currently at the schematic design stage, this industrial factory and product showroom in Saleng, Johor, is conceived as an integrated facility that brings together manufacturing, storage, administration, and customer-facing functions within a single architectural composition. Rather than treating the showroom as a separate attachment, the design positions it prominently along the main frontage, creating a strong corporate address while allowing the larger industrial volume to operate efficiently behind it. The extended roof profile, sheltered arrival zone, and clearly defined entrance establish a welcoming transition between the public showroom and the more functional factory environment.

The façade is characterised by a layered composition of dark cladding, warm-toned vertical fins, glazed openings, and custom perforated metal panels. Referencing the company’s own product expertise, the perforated panels are incorporated as both an architectural feature and a demonstration of material capability, transforming the building envelope into a full-scale showcase. Their varied pattern and controlled transparency provide texture, filtered daylight, visual screening, and a distinctive identity, while integrated façade lighting accentuates the depth and craftsmanship of the panels after dark.

A refined palette of charcoal grey, black, bronze, and warm timber-toned finishes gives the building a contemporary and premium character appropriate for a homeware brand. The central signage frame and glazed showroom frontage act as the visual focal point, while the surrounding industrial spaces remain robust and practical for deliveries, loading, and daily operations. Through the combination of expressive material detailing and efficient industrial planning, the project presents the factory not only as a place of production, but also as an architectural representation of the brand’s design quality and technical capabilities.
